The First STEM School District in Colorado.
Located on the Western Slope of Colorado, MCSD is the largest rural school district in the state.  MCSD serves over 6,000 students in Montrose County, covering the towns of Montrose and Olathe.  Centrally located near Gunnison, Grand Junction, Ridgway, Ouray and Telluride, Montrose is best known as the “Gateway to the Black Canyon.”  Montrose and Olathe are also known as great locations for easy access to skiing, biking, fishing, hunting and many more outdoor activities.
